Applekaka- A Finnish Dessert

2 qts Applesauce

1 box Zwiebach

Butter

Sugar

Cinnamon

Whip Cream

 

Roll Zwiebach into crumbs- Brown in butter in frying pan- add a couple tbsp’s of sugar- stir constantly

Place layer of crumbs in the bottom of a medium glass serving bowl.

Layer Applesauce- sprinkle a little cinnamon, then layer crumbs- continue layering until all ingredients are used up- ending top layer with crumbs.

Top with Whip Cream and refrigerate

Can be made day before and kept in refrigerator.
