Shrimp & Artichoke Wontons

1 package of Wanton wrappers

1 – 12 oz can of artichoke hearts (diced)

20 cooked medium shrimp (chopped)

˝ cup white onion (chopped)

2 stalks of scallions (chopped)

4 oz of softened cream cheese

1 tsp Garlic powder


In a large bowl mix the artichokes, shrimp, onions, garlic powder and cream cheese.  Stir until blended evenly.   Place approximately 1 tsp of filling in center of wanton wrapper and fold over moisten the edges with water.  This is a bit tricky at first but you’ll get the hang of it.  Once you have used either all of filling of wrapper, you are ready to fry.   Heat vegetable oil to high heat, and add wantons.  Be careful not to fry too many at one time.   Fry until the wrappers are browned, which should only take a minute or so.   Time to chow down with favorite condiment, I use Duck Sauce.
